About Leanna Rathkelly, photographer

Leanna Rathkelly’s work expresses beautiful relationships. Whether the image is one of a delicate landscape or evocative portrait, there is a connection of soul that is consistent in her work.

"My inspirations are real people and real light: I photograph life, and my goal is to invoke an identifiable emotion in all my images. I shoot the way I like to live - with joy, happiness and awareness. I have the same philosophy of photography as I do in my life - show the beauty of living, be nice to people, and enjoy the ride."

For over two decades Leanna has worked to master the art of photography. From personality portraits and advertising campaigns to magazine layouts and fine art work, Leanna has developed a distinctive and unique style in her profession. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Leanna Rathkelly studied Fine Arts at the University of Calgary and mentored with other photographers before moving to Whistler in 1985. She lives in the mountain village with her husband Richard and their two teenage children.
